Volunteer

Acres of Love Animal Rescue is an all-volunteer run animal rescue. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and we welcome and appreciate anyone that is willing to give their heart, time and skills to help things run as smoothly as we possibly can as an animal rescue!

Running an animal rescue involves everything that has to do with any business. We have volunteer opportunities for “behind-the-scenes” volunteering and “hands-on” volunteering.

Behind-the-Scenes Volunteer:

Marketing, fundraising projects, grant writing, maintaining this website and the facebook page, fostering, the coordinating of animals for medical needs, trips for our low-cost spay/neuter program, keeping animal records current, adoption and foster home checks, thank you cards - just a few of the things that make a rescue work efficiently and effectively.

Hands-On Volunteer:

The dogs at Acres of Love Animal Rescue need socializing and human interaction. Many of our dogs have never known security, companionship, trust, or routine in a loving family home environment. It takes special people who have patience, time and perseverance to turn them around to trusting humans. All dogs need walks, playtime, rubdowns, baths, or grooming - brushing and combing. Even just sitting with a dog will improve socialization skills that are needed to move forward with finding a perfect, forever home.

There are also the daily chores of feeding and watering, poop-scooping, general kennel and yard cleanup as well, for those volunteers who like to get into the nitty-gritty of animal care! The dogs appreciate anyone who is willing to provide for their daily needs, and they understand your efforts show you care.
